League Coaches & Philosophy:
Our philosophy is grounded in the belief that given the right mentors and environments, all young people possess tremendous potential to grow into exemplary human beings who can thrive personally but also contribute to the lives of their families, teams, work places and communities. As such, we use the game of basketball as learning medium in order to create a fun, safe and challenging environment for young people to learn, thrive and unleash their full human capacities.
Our coaching team take an integrative (or holistic) approach to learning and include educators working in primary, secondary and higher education. Some of our coaches also have experience playing/coaching/working in collegiate (NCAA/CIS) and professional (NBA/FIBA) sports. Our leagues and camps strive to inspire and equip players to develop their skills, enhance their character and to become full-circle (360) leaders on and off the court!
We take an integrative and research based approach to learning and basketball development in which our professional and experienced coaches draw upon the following 5 pillars of learning:
Learning to know
Learning to do
Learning to be
Learning to live, work & play with others
Learning to impact team, family, society & environment
We also believe every young person in the community deserves a fun, safe and challenging place to play sports and learn life-skills, regardless of their financial status. Thus, through our MDT scholarship program and community resources we support and scholarship any player who may not have the sufficient funds to participate in our programs.
